This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

1. Who We Are
BuildShop is a brand operated by 马ιζ°ͺοΌεδΊ¬οΌθ₯ιη§ζζιε ¬εΈ (Mateike (Beijing) Marketing Technology Co., Ltd.), a company registered in Beijing, China, which is the entity responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
- Email: hello@buildshop.store
- Privacy requests: jinkaixin@buildshop.store (please use the subject line "Privacy Request")
- Phone: +1 (646) 307 2152
2. Information We Collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Contact and identification details: name, business name, email address, and mobile or business phone number;
- Business details: your website address, industry, service area, services offered, and social or listing profiles you share with us;
- Project information: the content, requests, feedback, and materials you send us so we can design, build, or update a website;
- Form submissions: the contents of any inquiry, contact, quote, or estimate form you submit through the Site, including whether you checked the SMS consent box;
- Communication records: emails, text messages, call notes, and support requests you exchange with us.
b. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, our web servers automatically record standard technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, the page you came from, the date and time of your visit, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We use this information to operate the Site, keep it secure, understand aggregate traffic, and prevent abuse.
c. Business information from public sources
We also work with publicly available business information. See Section 4 for details.
d. Text message (SMS) information
If you communicate with us by text message or provide your mobile number with consent, we collect your mobile number, the content and timing of the messages, delivery status, and your opt-in and opt-out status. See Sections 5 and 6.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your inquiry, answer questions, and prepare quotes or proposals;
- design, build, host, preview, and maintain websites and related digital services for you;
- provide customer support, project updates, and service notifications;
- send text messages you have agreed to receive (see Section 5);
- process payments and maintain billing and tax records, where applicable;
- operate, secure, and improve the Site, including detecting and preventing fraud, spam, and misuse;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights and those of our customers; and
- measure and understand aggregate performance of our services.
We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Publicly Available Business Information and Preview Websites
We help local businesses see what a modern website could look like for them. To do that, we may collect and use publicly available business information β such as a business name, address, phone number, public website, business hours, service categories, publicly posted customer reviews and ratings, and public photos β for example from Google Maps, business directories, or a business's own public listings.
We use that information to prepare a demonstration website ("Preview Site") that we may share with the business owner. A Preview Site is prepared for demonstration purposes and is not presented as the business's official website.
If you own a business and would like us to remove your information from a Preview Site, stop all contact, or delete your business information from our records, contact us at hello@buildshop.store. We will remove the page and stop contacting you within 30 days (in practice, usually much sooner). You do not need to give a reason.
To stop text messages: reply STOP to any message from us. We stop sending text messages right away β apart from one confirmation message, you will receive no further messages from our text message program. See Section 5 for details.
Our use of business information obtained from third-party services such as Google Maps is subject to those providers' terms and conditions. A Preview Site does not imply any endorsement, partnership, or affiliation with the business shown.
5. Text Message (SMS) Program
BuildShop operates a text message program described in this section.
- Program name: BuildShop Service Messages
- How you opt in: we send text messages only with your affirmative opt-in. You are enrolled in our text message program when you check the SMS consent box on one of our forms, or when we obtain your separate, express authorization for that messaging. Providing your phone number alone β or accepting our Terms of Service β does not enroll you. If you text us first, we may reply to that conversation, but a single inbound message does not subscribe you to ongoing messages.
- Types of messages: replies to the conversation or inquiry you started; project and website updates, customer support, and appointment or call scheduling for customers who have opted in; and promotional or marketing messages only if you have separately consented to receive them.
- Message frequency: Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Opting out: reply STOP (or CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE) to any message to stop receiving text messages. You will receive one final message confirming your opt-out, and then no further messages.
- Help: reply HELP for assistance, or email hello@buildshop.store.
- Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving our services. You may contact us and work with us without agreeing to receive text messages.
- Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
6. SMS Data Protection
Your mobile phone number, your SMS opt-in data, and your consent records (including when, how, and through which form you consented) are used only to send you the messages you asked to receive, to transmit those messages through our messaging provider, and to keep records showing that we have your permission to contact you.
We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or consent information to any third party or affiliate for their own marketing purposes. We do not share this information with our affiliates for marketing, and we do not use it to market other businesses' products or services. Mobile numbers are shared with our SMS delivery provider (currently Twilio) only so that the messages can be transmitted; that provider may not use your number for its own marketing. If you opt out, we keep a record of your opt-out so that we can continue to honor it.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We keep our use of cookies and trackers minimal. The Site does not currently use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising tools. We may use essential cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for the Site to function, and our servers keep standard access logs as described in Section 2(b). If we add analytics or other cookies in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, obtain your consent first. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site should continue to work normally.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as described below:
- Service providers. Vendors that help us run our business and deliver services, including website hosting and infrastructure providers, our SMS/text messaging provider (Twilio), cloud collaboration and customer-record tools used to manage inquiries and projects, email providers, and payment processors where applicable. These providers may use the information only to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety. When we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of BuildShop, our customers, or others, or to investigate fraud or misuse.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
- With your direction. When you ask us to share information, or when you authorize a third party (for example, a partner or your own developer) to work with us on your website.
We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Text message information is never used or shared for anyone else's marketing. The limits described in Section 6 continue to apply to everything described in this section: mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and consent records are not shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing, and are disclosed to service providers only as needed to deliver the messages you asked for.
9. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy:
- Server access logs are kept for a short period (typically around 30 days) and are then deleted or aggregated;
- Inquiry, lead, and project records are kept while we are working together and for a reasonable period afterward so we can provide support and keep business records;
- Billing, tax, and compliance records are kept as long as required by applicable law;
- SMS opt-out records are kept so that we can continue to honor your request not to receive messages; and
- Preview Site information is deleted or removed when a business asks us to remove it, or when it is no longer needed.
10. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) across the Site, restricted access to systems and records on a need-to-know basis, and keeping only the information we actually need. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information. These rights apply to residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, and similar laws that take effect in other states:
- Right to know and access β to confirm whether we process your personal information and to receive a copy of it, along with details about how it is used and shared;
- Right to delete β to request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Right to correct β to request that inaccurate personal information be corrected;
- Right to portability β to receive your information in a portable format, where technically feasible;
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing β we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still submit an opt-out request with us and we will document it;
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information β we do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by these laws for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you;
- Right to non-discrimination β we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised your privacy rights; and
- Right to appeal β in some states, if we decline your request, you may appeal our decision by replying to our response.
How to exercise your rights. Email jinkaixin@buildshop.store with the subject line "Privacy Request" and tell us what you would like us to do. We may ask for information to verify your identity (and, where relevant, your authority to act for a business) before we act. You may also use an authorized agent, with written permission. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law β generally 45 days, and we will tell you if we need more time. Exercising these rights is free.
If you are a consumer and would like us to stop contacting your business entirely, you can also reply STOP to any text message from us or email us at any time.
12. Do Not Sell or Share / Targeted Advertising
BuildShop does not sell personal information, and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information, we do not have a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" opt-out link to maintain. If you send us a browser-based opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), we treat it as a valid request to opt out of sale or sharing, and we will record and honor it. We do not currently track visitors across third-party websites, so we do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals separately.
13. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at jinkaixin@buildshop.store and we will delete it promptly.
14. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site and our Preview Sites may link to or display information from third-party services, such as Google Maps, review platforms, social media pages, and payment providers. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We encourage you to review them before providing information to those services.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice β for example, a prominent notice on the Site, an email, or a text message β where required by law. Your continued use of the Site or our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
